25 Years As A Contractor. Then I Learned Google Was The Real Job.

I built an electrical contracting business over 15 years, then an epoxy flooring contracting business over 10. Both crossed a million dollars a year, and neither got there from truck wraps or referrals alone.

Twenty-five years in the trades taught me how a service business actually survives: on the next phone call, not the last one. I ran crews, bid jobs, and fixed what broke, electrical for 15 years, epoxy flooring for 10.

What pushed both businesses past a million a year wasn’t a bigger crew. It was Google. I couldn’t afford to pay an agency to guess, so I taught myself search and paid ads and ran the campaigns myself.

Refresh Crete results: 214 Facebook and Instagram leads, 76 estimates booked, 46 epoxy jobs sold, $147,112.46 earned

Refresh Crete, one of my epoxy accounts, on Facebook and Instagram ads alone.

214 leads. 76 estimates booked. 46 jobs sold. $147,112.46 earned. No agency built that account. I did, with the same kind of Google and Meta ad accounts I now build for clients.

That’s the difference between On The Map and a marketing vendor. I’m not selling a tactic I read about. I ran it on my own payroll first.

Now I run On The Map. I build the website, manage the Google Business listing, and run the ad campaigns, the same three things that pushed my own businesses past seven figures, for contractors who don’t have another 25 years to figure it out the hard way.

The Texas contractor startup guides on this site are my research too: real license fees, real DFW market rates, and registration steps pulled from state and city sources. Where a fee isn’t published anywhere, the guides say so instead of guessing.

Now That You Know My Story

Ask Yourself The Same Questions I Had To Answer

When’s the last job you landed come from someone who found you on Google, not a referral?

What does it cost you every month that a competitor with a better Google profile answers that call instead of you?

And if nothing about your Google presence changes in the next year, where does that leave the business?

I built three ways to fix it. Most contractors start with one and add the others as they grow.

Start here
Front Desk
$499/mo
  • AI voice answering on every missed and after-hours call
  • Missed-call text-back in under 60 seconds, in your business name
  • 5-touch follow-up over 7 days, then it stops
  • Review requests after every job, good ones routed to Google
  • Keep your own number, forward on no-answer only

No setup fee, no contract. Month to month, cancel anytime with 14 days notice.

Call answering is live within hours. Texting turns on once carrier registration clears, one to three weeks.

Local Authority
$999/mo
  • Multi-page website: home, services, service areas, about, blog, contact
  • Google Business Profile managed, listed across 20+ directories
  • A multi-page site, managed listings, and local SEO that compounds every month
  • New blog, service, and location pages published every month
  • Weekly rank tracking and a monthly performance report

One job you wouldn’t have gotten without being found on Google pays for the month.

No setup fee. Month to month, cancel with 14 days notice.

Ad Accelerator
$2,500/mo + your ad spend
  • Google search ads with Call Asset, built and managed for you
  • You keep your own Google Ads account, Google bills your ad spend directly
  • $6,000 prepaid covers 3 months, $1,500 less than paying month to month
  • Requires Front Desk ($499/mo), so ad calls never hit voicemail

First 10 calls are free, or your first 30 days, whichever comes first. You don’t pay the management fee before that.

No contract. Month to month, 14 days notice to cancel.

Most clients start with Front Desk and add the others as they grow. ACH bank debit only, no credit cards.
